If it is, it doesn't match he other 1996 serial formats I have, as hey are all SY# where the # is the year, but it is possible they changed during the year, or had different models made in different places. This is likely to be a January (A) 1996 frame (6).
I think the first one is later. M02 start could be 2002?My son's alloy unknown. Maybe a Tempest, Avalanche, Aggressor, or Pantera. Presumably a '98.View attachment 889058 View attachment 889057
This one is pretty obvious.

Ok - I'll buy that. In the build thread it was suggested to be a '98 as that was the first year of the integrated seatpost clamp, so it was assumed to be a '98. I clearly know nothing about serial number designations. Both bikes were re-painted, so that makes ID-by-color impossible.I think the first one is later. M02 start could be 2002?
Nice Zaskar!

Gt I.dSorry if this is a boring subject but I'm new to this forum & would appreciate some help to identify my GT. I bought it in about 1995 believing it was a Zaskar but not sure now? The frame number on the inside of the lefthand dropout is H1M 1997. The frame has always been ball burnished, has a...

Hello & GT RTS 2 QuestionHello! My first post so please forgive me if i'm in the wrong place etc. I have a Gt Oupost trail (1994 ish) which is still serving me well as my commuter/hack bike even though it wasn't a high spec bike even when I bought it. I've done a few upgrades over the years but it's still fully rigid...
