So, had a sticky master cylinder piston on some hope tech x2 brakes. Took a closer look and saw that the seal had popped out where the c shaped retainer doesnt cover it. Easy fix you'd think right?
Had a new seal kit so thought I'd use that, but for the life of me, I could not get the seal to fit. Even when I thought I had, it popped back out in the same way/place as the original one had.
Whst am i doing wrong? When i serviced a set before, i had no issue doing this. Fortunately i had a spare set of brakes (the ones i previously serviced) so i swapped the lever over and solved by immediate problem, but I now need to sort out my spare brakes.
Any advice gratefully received as a 30 min job turned into a very frustrating 2+ hours and I'm still a brake down.
Thanks
