help needed replacement rear shock for a gt sts

It was with great sadness that on my first test ride on my gt sts up cannock chase that my rear shock on my gt sts disintegrated less than 5 mins from the end of the dog. To say I was gutted is an understatement. Has any one got any ideas on what I can replace the rock shox super deluxe with as I could not even find all the parts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You could go for a Jekyll Fox shock, though some modification is needed to make it fit (I'm embarking on that currently). I do have a nos super deluxe and a used but in great condition coupe deluxe. Ou could buy a kit I've seen on eBay that would allow you to run a non-trunnion shock. Another option I thunk is that you could fit a non trunnion shock such as a Fox or rs coil using the pre- load threads for the springs. Not tried, but have seen a pic somewhere.
