Bloody hell mate, that's terrible. I had a Team Issue Zaskar Carbon stolen back in the summer and I'm still scouring the internet in the hope that it surfaces...

Best of luck in getting them back - Unfortunately, if the Copenhagen police are anything like the ones I dealt with in the UK, then they pretty much resign themselves to defeat as soon as they've handed you the crime reference number.

The forums and bike shops are your best bet - If someone broke into your basement to take them all, then they obviously knew they were there. Try looking locally first. Some people are actually dumb enough to ride around on the bikes they steal because they don't realise how individual they are :?

I feel for you man, that's just a horrible thing to happen to you.

Don't give up hope though, earlier this year I found and recovered (with the help of police) a bike that was stolen from me 4 years ago.

good question, though I don't think apartment insurance would cover it since it sounds it was in the basement/bike storage.
I live in NYC, and would never store valuable bikes in the building storage unit/bike area. They live with us in the apartment (or at another house), and are covered under apartment/renter's insurance.
Still, it's not like they could easily be replaced.

Looking out for the stolen stable is one thing, but alternatively I would think collectors on Retrobike and for example mtb-news, iv-mtb should be able to create a pool of stuff with the aim that relatively easy can be started with building a new collection that will help forget the old one - a bit. Everyone feels with Uli. Don't forget there are many collectors with dozens or even hundreds of bikes of who I would think could do with 1 less. Of course there need to be the abbility (insurance money perhaps) and willingness with Uli to take off with a new collection, as the action will be more successfull when people simply get fair money instead of having to give it away for free.

Maybe this is not the primary focus yet and all effort is allocated to getting the Serotta, WTB, Yetis and so on back. When ready for a two track approach I think there may be people open to the concept.

At least good to hear you are possibly covered. Sounds a bit cold maybe, as what matters most is the uncertain destiny of your beloved bicycles, but from a rational point of view it is positive your fortune/wealth not went with them.

I did spread the news a bit and will continue doing so. Not too much. I would think the right people need to know it. If you ever want to see them surface, I would think there is something to say to keep it somewhat underground. If you have a new explicit request to me or anyone on Retrobike, we are happy to help.
