Help me choose a retro full suspension bike…………..

I'm often the opposing view on ProFlexes - as cool as the Vectors look, they feel like a death-trap to ride IMHO. I also didn't like the feel of that rear suspension compared to the FSR - the pogoing was awful on the ones I rode.

Replacements for the rear air shocks in those FSR dimensions are cheap, but sourcing bushings to mount them can be a pain. Those old SIDs are dead simple to service and although they're flexy by today's standards, they still feel miles better than Vectors (he says, dawning his flame suit).
Are you assuming they’ll be ridden hard rather than by an ageing post surgery unfit moderately skilled at best retrobiker along light trails……..?

Earlier fs designs are not a good as more modern ones, hardtails too.
- but here we are on retrobike
So proflex all the way😎

My opinions are coming from someone who builds more bikes in a year than the number of times he rides in a year! All opinions were formed as a youngin when suspension dynamics apparently mattered to me! Having said that, my distaste of going over the bars still steers me away from Vectors. It's like they were designed to throw one over!
