that wasn't that unusual, it was just normally closer to the pivot so it wasn't as noticeable. it doesn't just move up, it moves backwards too.

Shocks with old proprietary mountings look grim. You need to have a nice serviced suspension for a pleasant ride after all. I like how my Mount Vision(s) took a standard modern 165x38 mm Suntour Edge.
