Help in identifying an Orange Formula

I have come across a bike which I suspect is a an Orange Formula, anyone got any tell tale signs that it’s actually a formula. I have heard they are quite rare, any truth to this?

It'll say "Formula" on the top tube.

There's a few different styles/build by different frame builders, so almost every one is slightly different.

They're rare in that a limited number were made.

I have had a look and I am not sure if it is a genuine formula. Looks more like a prestige. The serial starts A891 which is confusing as I thought it was year then month, unless this means January 1989. Any frame number experts on here?

A*****. serial number suggest A-Pro so Far East and not Formula. Still could be nice though.

Yeah, thought that would be the case. It does have a formula sticker on it, but I didn’t think it was genuine.

That's an early date, pre Prestige so only Clockwork left.

But prototypes branded as formula.
It was the start of it all though.
