Help identify these 2 very old (possibly pre war?) bikes!

Okay team, i need help identifying these two old bikes i found at the back of my dads garage.

The mans bike says raleigh sport on the side and has a 3 speed sturmey hub.

Ladies bike i beleive was pulled out of a hedge mid 70's and restored by my dad. It is beleived to be wartime, with no decals and seems to be just painted steel tubing. The original tyres were said to have BSA wartime standard written on them. The basket has sadly been eaten by wood worm so is fit for the bin and the childs sat on the back, although still sounds, doesn't look too comfy!

Are they worth restoring or are they fit for the, ahem, bin?

I can't figure out how to put pics on here so please see link http://badcamper.pinkbike.com/album/Old-old-bikes/

Thanks for your help!

just checked model and dates of rear hubs here: http://sheldonbrown.com/english-3.html#sturmey and the Mens is AC51 which is an apparently rare model used for time trails from 1951 and the Ladies says AW 76 11 has been in production since 1936. The wheel was replaced mid 70's so the 76 could well be the year.

I also found an unused looking crankset which is amazingly still shiney! It has some surface rust but should buff up fine.

What should i do with them?!? Does anyone have any idea of value or rarity? although they are rusty i think some TLC could see them servicable!

Triumph were making bikes identical to these in the 70's, the only difference was the Triumphs had rod brakes. I don't think they are that old, certainly not pre-war. The number on the hub usually points to the year, so 1951 and 1976 sounds about right.

Someone on here can decipher the Raleigh frame numbers though, so you should be able to date the frames more accurately.

The ladies Raleigh looks like 1948 ish, Before the octagonal headset, but still a lack of chrome after WW2.
The other might have the forks back a bit, never a problem, and not a rare bike, but made in their millions, early 50's looks right, so probably original hub.
There is some info on Raleigh frame numbers.
Some parts can fetch quite good prices in the US, but they like stuff looking new.

one_eyed_jim is correct, it's an AG, I can see the dyno bit on the photos.

The gents looks like the light roadster that was turned out in large numbers and badged as Raleigh, Elswick Hopper and others. not worth a lot, I have just sold a 1979 model (with rod brakes) for £35, which is what I paid for it at auction. It was in much better condition than that one, too, only needing a splash of oil and a new rear tyre to be road worthy.
