Hello
Another of my bikes, this was on its way to the tip until I rescued it thankfully
Any information on the bike appreciated
Paintwork is very rough, Its been patched up over rust, I don't know what to do with it, I'm thinking about a full respray but then the decals will be lost for ever... ideas??
I fitted a front wheel as it didn't have one, put some brown bar tape on and fitted a new tub to the rear wheel and then used for riding around the estate ( its very light weight and fun as its a fixed gear) I want to learn how to ride backwards
Sorry about the missing saddle, I'm in the process of finding a period one for it..

It's got a look of brian Rourke about it, nice looking frame under that lug lining. The general road section gets more traffic than the ss section i would expect so the best place to post for ID.

When I saw Armstrong I thought it looked a bit modern for a vintage Armstrong - but then saw the Middlesborough and remembered Colin as a rider but didn't know he ever had a shop. I would imagine he would have bought it in from the trade, possibly a North East builder, Donohugh (spelling!?) Waugh etc.? It looks to be a nice frame - but there's some weird brazing around the BB shell attaching it to the rear stays. With all that grey overspray, could it be a repair? And why double track nuts on the rear wheel?

Looks like the shop is still there -

thanks for that info, yes I intend to see if the shop still exists. You have very good eyesight! the double nuts were put on by me so that it clamps into my Turbo trainer !
The weird line on the BB is where the paint has been rubbed down and then sprayed with primer to prevent any more rust. I'm starting to think it deserves a full sand blast and respray. I wonder if anyone has seen a frame number like the one on the BB anywhere before?

Ah, so the zig-zag line is the rubbed down edge of the paint is it? The number could mean a 1995 build date? The fork crown is possibly around that time, it's a relatively modern one IMHO.

Don't sand blast it get a bead blast which is a lot kinder to the tubing. A 'proper' frame refinisher would do it this way.

Yeah that's right, just the rubbed down paint edge. I'm thinking the back wheel is rare. Anyone seen one before? Found a couple of pictures on the net of similar wheels with a sticker instead of a metal badge like this one.

Re:

Hello
I decided to get on and repaint the track frame. So I would like to I.D. the maker of the frame to get some decals fitted. Has anyone any ideas from the pictures or frame number. Many thanks
