Does it happen with normal MP3's or videos played from the harddisk? If it does it will mean that the sound card driver needs a reinstall.

Carl.

no, it is literally only doing it to audio played through videos online, or audio played online (Mp3 files i have downloaded/videos i have downloaded play absolutely perfectly)......

still searching for a solution to this problem....
been through device manager - not conflicts detected and all audio drivers are up to date.....

searched through a load of forums, no real answers to this it seems.
its bugging the hell out of me!!!

Have you tried doing a System Restore to a point when you weren't experiencing this problem?

Are you using a desktop or laptop/netbook? Model number and specs of your computer might also help.

I had a similar problem with my netbook a while back, it was doing my swede in! Turns out that if you're using ethernet and wifi at the same time it can cause a conflict with the sound card drivers.

i'm on a Dell laptop, specs as follows:

Hard Drives
156GB Seagate ST9160412ASG (SATA) 43 °C

HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GT10N
Audio
IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

Its a work laptop, so i may see if the associated IT support people can help.
It uses wireless only, so i would think that issue would not apply.

If you have the rights (it's a works computer?), try checking the properties of the network card, make sure it's set to the same as another machine at work that does not have the issue. Reinstall the network card drivers if that doesn't fix.

I could go on about TCP/IP block size but I doubt you'll need to go that far.

I would clear the cache, don't do Chrome so I don't know the routine.

I would try installing a codec pack such as K-Lite.

Never harms to update your codecs.

If you have a dedicated IT wing I would go there first, as you could probably use a general tune up anyway.

:)

Please just take it back

Those IDT soundcards are shit, so a driver there. Put your serivce tag in the website and check the driver, windows driver update won't be up to date. It won't be the network else the video would be buggered too.

Codec packs are the work of the devil.

One word - DON'T.

If you need a codec - get the proper codec. Just not some horrible codec packs.

In fact, truth be told, avoid most of them like the plague, unless you need a specific one. Media players like VLC tend to have the codecs in-built.

K-Lite is damn good, if you read up.

It installs MPC as standard and nothing untoward.

Horses for courses, saves a lot of headaches.
