internet video audio/audio streaming is all distorted (almost like the audio has an echo and also has a clicky/stuttering effect.
means i cant play videos off youtube/embedded videos on facebook or soundcloud file off the internet withit all being distroted and crap.
but, windows media player audio works fine, as does Spotify and downloaded audio files (played through windows media player).

literally no idea whats happened.
I use chrome and IE, both suffer this issue.

all the answers so far that i've looked up on the internet are either absurdly useless, or total computer tech talk, so i am at a loss...

hope someone out there can help and talk to me in reasonable step by step terms :p i'm not a technophobe, but i'm certainly no 'Flynn'....;)

Have you turned it off and on again? Sounds daft but there maybe an update waiting to install. Most troubles are cured by a simple power cyle.

its on my work computer, i shut it down every night. will try installing flash player again. thanks for the help, will let you know if it solves the problem :)

another thing, when i go to adjust the volume from the system tray icon, when i move the slider - instead of getting the sound test 'ding' to show how loud it is, all i get is a horrible error type beep....could that be linked to this issue?
just tried uninstalling then updating flash player - i uninstalled, but when i went to install again, it told me i already have it in google chrome..??

i'm confused...:S

Also try restarting the computer as opposed to turning it off and on completely (it's in the shut down menu) I've had updates hang annoyingly because of this....

Also have you checked for updates for the soundcard or videocard?

Check using another browser, Internet Explorer for example.

It does sound like your Flash installation.

There is an option somewhere to 'force' the installation, maybe something like "if Flash did not install correctly" or something.

Cutting the grass the now, with a limp, hopefully you have it sorted by now.

i did actually try IE, and it did sound fine, but i tried using it the next day and it had the same problem...??!!
i've also looked into control panel-->sound and checked all the drivers (all state they are working properly).
will try uninstalling and force installing flash again tomorrow.
the only thing that puzzles me is the volume level adjust noise thing from the system tray icon, i'm sure i've had that issue before...its just bugging me more than the actual issue now...:p

tres annoying as i like to tube surf at lunchtime sometimes....

Does it happen with normal MP3's or videos played from the harddisk? If it does it will mean that the sound card driver needs a reinstall.

Carl.
