HELP, can anyone identify this 90's rocky mountain bike??

Re: HELP, can anyone identify this 90's rocky mountain bike?

I have the same '91 Hammer. It was originally spec'd with Suntour XC components (drivetrain, brakes, thumbshifters and hubs) The wheels were Wheelsmith-built with Mavic rims and Ritchey Megabite tires. The seat/post, stem/bars were all "Rocky Mountain" branded and it obviously had a rigid fork.

Because the cable guides are on the head tube (which was a bit of a failed experiment that only lasted the one year), make sure you add more length than you normally would for the cable housings at the front.

I still ride mine today (with many newer parts and upgrades plus shocks). It's still a great all-round XC bike.

The cable guides on the head tube resulted in broken cable housing.

I recently picked up this 91' RM Cirrus. Almost completely stock. Including the hair sticking out of the Ritckey Z-Max tires! It was in storage for over 10 years.

Congrats, beautifull bike you have there. A german bloke made some repro's. PM if you're interested.
