Hi All,

I am just recovering from a hip replacement which has been a result of a bad accident on my Saracen Killi Team 6 years ago and I am wanting to get back into it but I want to get a full bouncer rather than the hardtail to take the impact out of some trail riding.

I want to get a 2nd hand bike for some trail riding so was looking at 120mm travel bikes. I'd like to spend around the £400 mark so if you would be so kind to suggest me some bikes, I have seen a couple of Treks which I like the look of due to the dropped top tube.

I have been well out of the circuit and scene for years so I am just trying to catch up as the tech has moved a long way.

Cheers

Duncan

ps I will load some pics up of my hip and the saracen and the missus's Sunn Vertik

Must've been a nasty accident Duncan?

Seems like you're in the wrong place to be asking about modern technology mate :D ;)

I've had better rides out.

I'm not after new but newish I'm keeping the kili but may stick some pro classes on it if I can find some when I have the cash ready.

I figured most people would have a couple of bikes.

I ride a fairly modern full sus a Scott Ransom I has a three position switch on the bars letting you choose between lockout, 3 inch and 6 inch travel, its a bit overkill I know but I've only got one arm and cant get out of the saddle easily so my backside tends to spend 95% of its time glued to it, which with your hip might be the same for you.
I do a mix of riding, some road, tow path and trail centres and it works well ( for me ) !
I would look for something with a remote shock as I makes life easier.
hope this is of help. :D

Cheers Bryn

I'll certainly have a look, it doesn't sound like a bad idea at all.

If the thread needs moving please feel free to do so mods
