Hi all,

So just sold a frame on eBay but buyer is from Indonesia and shipping Is over £200 what do you think I should do? Would it be unreasonable to cancel and relist? Can I list something for uk only? Quite new to selling on eBay so sorry this is quite a simple question.

Re:

So buyer just sent me this:

hi, i prefer using ups or fed ex pls add shipping cost in ebay and i will pay

note :
pls dont show in paper document shipping (packing list and invoice) if thebgoods is used /pre owned cause will problem to take custom clearance in my country

rgds

I’m just a bit bothered as when you look at buyers profile it says they are in USA but shipping is to Indonesia, and note above is just setting off alarm bells. Just don’t want to do anything wrong and potentially loose £500.

Re:

Yes you can cancel it, and yes you can only sell UK. You can only offer collection which is less hassle but won’t max value - but a bike frame now, if decent, will go well

Was your listing for uk postage only? if you scroll down on your listing to under where you place bid or press buy it now, there is the collection/postage/payment;return sections. If your listing says Uk postage then you can contact the seller and tell them it is UK only sorry, and ask them to cancel order, you then need to accept cancellation request. Or if buyer agrees then you can cancel order and put seller requested cancellation.

Have you got a link to the listing?

If you decide to post it then as long as you use the address provided by ebay in the order details or print postage label, then you will be covered, make sure its tracked though.

BTW you can cancel the order if you have doubts about the address, thats one of the options when you cancel order.

Only the 5th thing I’ve sold so still very green. Would it be uk only by default?

Here’s the listing.

Yes, on you listing it says posts to United Kingdom, so on the buyers site it would have said may not post to their address and to contact seller, which they didnt, so you can cancel for that reason, just let them know it was uk postage only, be nice about it and go from there.

And yes, uk postage is default, you have to check intenational postage option on listing.

Thanks man that’s what I’ll do I think. It could well be genuine but I don’t feel comfortable with the shipping costs.
