HELP A NEWBIE DAY. My first build and I'm in need of help.

Afternoon all.

I recently purchased a Peugeot PSV10 in need of some repair with a view to making it my own. (Powder coated black with new Peugeot decals, Mavic MA40s)

The bikes been updated with new Shimano 600 and 105 parts, which is lovely...but they aren't braze ons so don't fit! They've had to be mounted by the previous owner on the bracket, above/below the mounting.

I'm VERY new to this after recently getting the bug, and I'll be honest I'm building this to be capable...but not the last word in performance....so...

I'm going to flog the Shimano parts and by some that actually fit the frame. Don't know a thing about it. Any recommendations? I like the Arabesque style parts so anything of that style would be great.

Re:

I suggest you do a little research on the PSV10 and see what spec they came with. I suspect Sachs Huret or Simplex gears, Weinmann brakes, Stronglight chainset(?) kind of quality mid-market stuff that shouldn't cost a mint
