Heart rate monitor without chest-strap ?

I am looking for a heartrate monitor with a different solution than the polar chest-strap.
They are very uncomfortable to wear for me, even if I keep them as slack as possible.
The finger-touch watches are out as I want the same functionality as the chest-strap type. Glue-on pads would be nice, even wired to the watch.
