Hi guys.

does anyone have any experience or knowledge on removal and servicing of Cannondale headshok forks?

Im looking to replace one for another (1997/98 era Fatty D fork) and dont even know how to remove the bugger from the frame..

The web is notoriously short of links and advice on this particular subject (thanks Cannondale!) so any decent links you could provide would be much appreciated.

Would also love to know how to adjust spring rate / compression on said Fatty D, and where to source parts in order to do so?

thanks!

This is a good place to start http://www.fastglass.net/bike/headshok/index.html

After the original Delta-V style of Pepperoni fork (when it officially became 'headshok') you should (I think) just be able to knock the fork out of the bike once the stem is removed. The earlier type had an allen bolt on each cup which held the bearings and steerer tight.
Again, after '96 or so I believe the internals haven't changed that much to the present day, so a Cannondale dealer/Headshok specialist should be able to help you out with parts and servicing. At the very worst you can insert a modern cartridge of the correct travel into your fork.

Don't take my word for it though as my forks are from '92 and 2003 so yours highlight a big gap in my knowledge :D

Yeh me to !! been looking to have a go at this myself for a while , did find some info on this ...... think it may have bin through "sheldon brown" but im not sure :? my fatty D has developed a slight wobble when not locked out  im hopeing that its not to serious  mind you thats not bad for a 14 year old fork !!!
