Hi Chris, my threaded rod is M8. Is this doable for you? I wouldn't want to be picky, but the other bits I've cobbled together for my current press fit nicely on it (thrust bearings and nylon bushes etc).....so if you can tailor your fine adapters to this, I'd really appreciate it if it's no real bother...?
