Headset help

Hi All,

Not exactly a "retro" question, by I hope somebody can help. My new headset is doing my head in.

I have recently bought a Kinesis Crosslight CXD fork to go on the latest bike build. It's the first time I am dealing with a tapered 1 1/8 -> 1.5 steerer.
The headset is a cheap Chinese (ZTTO) IS5240. The crown race seems to be sitting several mm high and there is no way this is going to bottom out and still fit into the 1/5in bearing. See photo attached.

I assume that the crown should bottom out instead of sitting on the taper - I am right to make that assumption?
Is this the case where I might have a 45/45 headset and I need a 36/45? How can I tell?

Thank you.

I think I figured it out - the bearing goes straight on carbon (wtf!). And I think I need a special overpriced headset for this one.

Re:

It does appear to have an integrated crown race according to the spec so in theory as long as your headset bearing is the same angle as the integrated bit, you can do away with the crown race that came with yours.
