Headset Help!

Retro Newbie
So I am starting to assemble my late 40s FHG and I'm confused about the headset. I realise traditional threaded headsets have 'cups' that the bearing races sit in which are pressed into the frame. On my frame, these 'cups' seem to be part of the frame itself. So I don't know what sort of headset will fit.

All advice greatly appreciated, heres a few pics.

Cheers
Dan

The older bikes that I worked on had separate "cups" that sat in the frame into which the ball bearings went, not a modern type cup that is an interference fit in the frame just a holder for the ball bearings

I don't ever recall seeing a frame where he bearings went straight onto the frame metal, mind you it was nearly 40 years ago. Keithglos on here might know.

Thanks for the replies. Obviously this is more of an undertaking than I first thought. One more question, after searching on eBay for 'Headclip headset' and the majority of results being hair extensions, does anybody know of manufacturers of these headsets to look out for? I have seen Chater Lea are the sought after ones but I dont think I can justify £100+

I have two bikes with type, one tandem and one fixed.

The parts come up quite regularly on eBay, or you can try the Tandem Club, they have a selection of the cups in their shop.

FWIW it looks like the cups are built into the frame, but they are not. The cups sit in that recess, which makes fitting a right royal pain in the arse as they are a loose fit!
