Recently fitting the Hope to my Stumpy FSR and it's a nice bit of kit. Easy to fit (split crown race), nice and smooth and hasn't come loose. Doesn't have the bling factor of the CK's, but you can get the Hope for £55 if you shop around on the net.
I have two CK headsets that have been removed and fitted a few times and have never had a problem with them.
Also have two Hope headsets which again, I have never had a problem with.
Its all down to the bling and cache of the name imo!
I love the bling of CKs and they're a piece of p1ss to service with the right grease. I also like the indestructability factor that gives me piece of mind when riding.
I've heard of creaking issues with Hopes, and loosening issues with Kings, you might also want to consider the Cane Creek 110 - a very good headset available in all the pretty colours we love.
I suppose it's my fault for asking almost a closed question. Hope or CK. there will always be fans or otherwise of both brands.
I suppose it comes down to bling and reputation vs lower cost and a UK made product.
Almost £55 vs £80 ?
Any really bad experiences of eitehr would be a better approach ?
Foer my next question. Shimano 770 shifters/mech Vs SRAM X9 (really)
