I wasn´t aware of the whole Hayes 22mm caliper mount until earlier this year when i happened on a 2000 oclv Trek.
recently an adaptor from that there china has appeared on ebay and aliexpress, definitely weren´t there earlier in the year (did find early hope brakes complete with hayes adaptor).
Anyway, as it was only 12€ I ordered a couple from AliExpress with the rest of the black friday swag.
the listing says:-
Converts 22mm Hayes Disc Brake frame mount to I.S. 51mm mount. For some Klein, Trek, Gary Fisher, Schwinn, Jamis, Santana tandem, etc Due your own due diligence as to fitment as this is a non returnable item.

Keyword SOME Klein, Trek (Trek owned companies basically). Admittedly, I´ve only tried it on my Elite 9.8, but it doesn´t fit.
the rear mounting point fouls the seat stay, it has just occurred to that it might on a bigger frame, for a giraffe maybe, where the angle between the stays is bigger it might not be an issue.
So if, like me, you own a late 90´s Trek etc and saw these and thought "ooh! ooh! ooh!" seeing an opportunity to fit, say Hope mini monos or M4, to your steed, disappointingly not I´m afraid.

*edit* In the minutes since writing this I´ve realised that due to the design of the oclv frame, the rear triangle is quite small and if t was a smidge larger then the adapter would probably clear the seat stay. Damnit!

I´ll come back when I´ve bastardised it........

anyone else tried them out? with success?

Although the frame measures 44cm, medium?, the rear triangle is quite small. If the seat stays joined the seat tube a bit higher the adapter would probably clear it. Damnit!
So if yours is a conventional designed frame that isn't tiny sized, these will probably work great.
I'll be in the corner with a file if anyone wants me.......

Early disc brakes had masses of random incompatibility. I remember it well.

The law states that items bought remotely have to be refundable.
Additionally if you've bought something that doesn't do what it says it does, you are entitled to your money back.
Good luck with that with AliE 🤣

I'd buy off ebay if there's a choice because if it doesn't do what it says, you're definitely getting your money back whether they accept it or not.
