Hi

Ive just picked up a HARO Mirra S351 Pro, see pics.... thing is, i cant find any this colour online - does anyone know anything about these bikes or the possible history of it? Web seems to suggest its a 2003 model, but they didnt seem to be metallic green?

UPDATE
on closer inspection of frame stamps etc, its a Ruption Newboy, stickered up as a HARO. So... same still applies!?... Ruption Newboys?! what where why how?! any good?!

TA!

I'm guessing you've had a look at the above link to BMX Museum ? I'm would imagine that it is original colour, or it could be a re-paint with new decals applied? either way nice find. There is a lot or Mirra talk going on in the BMX world right now as you can imagine, sadly some seems to be for financial gain too. He was a legend and along with the likes of Hoffman, Fiola, Haro and so on will always be a pillar of the BMX movment even in his passing.

Hopefully you will be able to get this ride looking nice and be able to enjoy it :)

Re:

yeh fingers crossed - going to go and give it a clean up now...someones put purple paint on the rear dropouts but it seems ot come off with a bit of gentle wire wooling!

paint seems original - if its been resprayed then someone went to a lot of expense and time if not!

should be fun anyway!!

Just had another look on a larger screen and yes you can see the frame geometry is different to a Haro :( Oh well, as for Ruption, mass produced and apart from the higher end bikes pretty much bikes for the masses, but dont let that detract from making into a nice build, i would remove stickers personally (That is my opinon) or keep it as a tribute bike? The choice is yours, always good to start with a good clean up and service see what the bones are and work from there :)

Re:

yeh ive had a little ride on it, it rides well as is - your right i think ill remove the stickers and give it a clean look!?

on the plus side, i paid a tenner for it! he had it up for 15 but cos of the seat knocked another fiver off! i still offered him the 15 cos i felt i was nickin it off him but he insisted...so its gotta be worth the money pants or not! bit of fun and can always donate to the sons bike pile!

Wow £15 thats a steal :D And nowt wrong with a budget bike chap, perfect for thrashing around and Ruption do make some good parts so it will be robust compared to many other bikes out there
