Tour of Tunisia sounds great,
Definitely type 2 fun. There were amazing elements eg cycling and seeing El Jem in the distance, camels in real life, touching the edge of the Sahara, staying at Hotel Sidi Driss (Luke's homestead in Star Wars), camped in some amazing places and encountered friendly locals. But we also caught dysentry, nearly carked it on a remote corner of small island as a result, some of the places to stay were dreadful and the lass I was travelling with got a ton of hassle. Food rather limited if vegetarian either. The only place we ate well was Hotel Sidi Driss.
Last year, the missus and I went to northern Finland just before Xmas as our Christmas. Now that was utterly magical - inc dog sledding, a stunning display of the northern lights and meeting Santa Claus (although the missus not being western was like "WTAF? Why does this guy want me to sit on his knee?") But for 10 seconds or so, I suspended my disbelief - and I believed. Astounding given I'm a 50 something bloke, and have known about the man in red's non-existence since I was 4.
