Handsome Dog Rockstar + Upgrades

Retro Newbie
First thread here but found this forum researching my bike that I've had since my teens. I got this bike new sometime around 98/98 and used to be in to trials. It came fully rigid with crappy quad mechanical discuss brakes.

I've upgraded it to Clarks M2 hydraulic brakes and bought some Rockshox XC28. Had a mare getting a bigger chain ring as you can see because of the old five bolt FSA powerpro crank setup. The guys at the bike shop in Derby were awesome in digging out an old box out from the back room full of chain rings and installing for me. Now I'm getting back into it I'll run it like this and go for some better upgrades in the future. Has Quad mamba xc wheels and hubs but I have no idea if they are any good?

Let me know what you think

I'll get some more pics later. I was at Sherwood Pines and did a red trail, everyone had full sus setups though but I had a blast. Got some funny looks at my bike outside the visitor centre mind :)

Oh wow. I used to ride trails in my youth on a camouflage ddg shooter from star bikes in Nottingham. Me and my mates considered power pro's as disposable. Ride em for a few months until the taper rounded off them get a new set in a different funky anodized colour.

Guy in my local shop said the same, Powerpros were everywhere cause they were £20 a pop. DDG Shooter, blast from the past. Remember meeting a kid that had one back in the day riding in Derby city centre by the waterfront.

Also if a mod wants to move this to 1998 onward that would be correct. Posted this on mobile and screwed up :)

Re:

It was a great bike until I stupidly fitted a massive IRC kujo (remember them) rear tyre. It didn't fit properly and a slight wheel buckle made it buzz the frame. It wore a slight groove into the chainstay which caused it to snap one day jumping stairsets.
