Hands up who needs this in their lives?

Danish TV has always been grim and dark, that's for sure. I do not recall any quality TV in Denmark that wasn't absolutely depressing or depraved. If you want the real Danish stuff though, we have to go back to classics like Flickering Lights, Green Butchers, Pusher, In China They Eat Dogs and also the slightly more modern stuff such as Men and Chicken or Riders of Justice. I think that's when our TV stuff peaked, action-drama's infused with surreal dark comedy.

There's a lot of older slightly lower budget stuff that's interesting as well, but often too symbolic for my liking.
I think I have Men and Chicken in my collection somehere...

If you haven't heard of the rest I strongly recommend them in case you liked Men and Chicken. Particularly Flickering Lights is my favourite of all time, I do not know of a film that sums up the Danish mentality more than that, having grown up in a working class rural Danish family from Jutland, it embodies the mentality of loveable backwardness that Denmark used to house.

A triumph of fashion over function. How to produce a portmanteau product which is less useful than either item.

Like I said. Utterly execrable masturbatory midden worthy waste of timber.
