I've seen bars like that made from drops which were cut short and then fit upside down. When we were tandem riding in the late 80's they were quite popular as stoker bars if I remember rightly. You must have a spare set of old drops somewhere so worth giving it a try.

I have done that myself to good effect. Worth a go if it is not a prestigious build.

You might be able to find some 3T moscow for a bit less. They are nice as well.

Thanks for the money-saving tips, i will give them due consideration although i have no spare bars at the moment.

I have a few options regarding similar second-hand bars like these or cheaper new ones. As seems to be the norm, too much choice - i think this is the same for everything not just bike bits.
