I love it, it's the first time I've seen another Zaskar with Rigida CSB rims, I thought I was the only one.

They are a rather heavy rim but boy are they bomb proof, I run a pair and have never had to true them up in over 20+ years of riding.

I wish I hadn't sold my '93 Zaskar (sold in '94 to spend on stuff for my flat when I moved to Sheffield). However, it was a great bike, I had spent near enough 2k before upgrading the wheels. The wheels were borrowed from my second '92 Timberline just so I could get the Zaskar on the road!
Note that there certain parts not on the list as I can't remember those parts fitted, it was 30 years ago!
Specification from memory
1993 16" GT Zaskar frame, ball burnished
Pace RC35 forks
3TTT PRO Light quill stem
Shimano Deore XT derailleurs
Rapidfire shifters (Shimano Deore XT M095 shifters/levers)
Topline red anodised cranks with Pace chainrings
Onza clipless pedals
U.S.E green anodised handlebars and seatpost
Selle Italia Flite Ti Saddle
Onza brakes
Tyres; Tioga or Panaracer?
X-Lite bar ends
Sadly I didn't have access to a camera at that time to take photos.

I would like to add that I had a great time building up this Zaskar, especially with thanks to the guy running the shop in Leamington Spa, Jules, who let me use the workshop and tools to build my bike(s).
I was a good customer as I had bought 3 GT mountain bikes, a GT performer BMX and the Zaskar build from this shop alone between 1992 and 1994! 😁

A 90 or 91 with the Black decals on the polished frame gets my vote. Something really cool about those early ones with a U-brake imo. They wear Manitous or old Rock Shox really well, Ritchey megabites etc. NICE!

At the time when I was talking to the shop manager (Jules) about getting a Zaskar frame I was hoping to get a '92 model, unfortunately I couldn't get one and ended up with an early '93 model instead. I was still happy to own a Zaskar though! 😁
