GT XCR idrive thread - owners bikes and tech support

Hi everybody

First post here with my brothers old 1999 XCR 3000 which I am restoring to a rideable state if not better than original.

- new RS Monarch RT3 shock coming
- rebuild of front RD Judy forks, new seals etc
- new headset, Hope or Adheaset
- new pads
- rebuild the i-Drive
- sand blast of rear triangle then anodised red at work

Couple of questions to guys might have the answer to--->

What is the diameter of the front derailleur band?
Is it possible to use external BB cups or even Hollowtech stuff?
What pin spanner do you use for removing the main pivot caps?

I want to go to 2 x 10 speed hopefully, hopefully possible?

31.2 i think

jus checked its a 31.8 mech

Brilliant thanks very much. That leads me onto a 10 speed setup. What's the deal with using external cups with the i-drive, shouldn't be any interference right?

no issue that i can see

If you're referring to external BB cups then there's no issues. I've fitted an external XT BB on my wifes idrive with no probs at all.
