Probably worth changing the postage, as although you've said it's for collection it currently shows like you will post it for £2.80.

Looks in good condition and I really like the paintwork. I'm pretty sure it's a 20".

yup that's the one..
do you measure GT's same as normal, i.e. bb to top tube?

GT measured centre of the bottom bracket to centre of the top tube, so my 20" measure about 22" or 22.5" centre to top.

Got one, 1990 Timberline. Pretty nice spec if you can get it cheap.
Got a decent U-brake on the back and a decent chainset (Lx ?).

Nice...you don't see many 1990 GTs about and not in that condition!

Your front mech shifter...likely the grease has dried out and the pawls are not engaging/releasing. Is an easy fix, just squirt WD40 in it through the cable hole, allow to soak then just work the shifter a few times until it frees up. May take a few squirts of WD40 to do the trick. When done use a spray grease or thicker lube sprayed inside.

Seen people throw shifters away when its a 5 min fix.

i have just bought one of these for my son,....i think he may not be having it!..
i'm also not sure of the year of the bike,or if it's worth the price paid for it,as spec is only acera?

If you create a thread for it with pics then the GT nuts will age it for you and point out any spec inconsistencies, there's also the catalogues for cross-referencing
