GT Tequesta - Help Needed

Re:

Nice colour those mudguards will be for 700 c wheels so you may have to adapt them.

Oh really? That bike was the one I pinched the 26” wheels off...
New seatpost arrived but doesn’t fit (26.8mm) feels very close though. It has had a smaller tube with spacer fitted so possibly it’s just a little crimped or gritty?

Loosely fitted the guards and rack. I’m thinking I’ll spray the guards black eventually.

What's up with those Aerospoke like wheels you got the bike with? I've no experience with those. Are those just for the looks (and not having to true wheels) or people actually used them on their off-road rides?

Here’s how she sits right now. Made useable on a budget.

In time I plan to replace the seat (bought a 26.8mm post but doesn’t fit?!), fit front brake, change the shifter to an appropriate 7 speed and give the drive train a much needed clean and lube!

Re:

coming along nicely, not sure about all the holes in that rear mudguard though.
I'd go for some 7 speed shifters / combos.

I've got a timberline from the same year. Seatpost is stuck, so I'm trying to remove it in a manner in which I can re use it.
I did put a vernier on it last summer but can't remember what it was. I googled the measurement though and it didn't come up with any seatposts that size... Next time I top up the penetrating oil, I'll measure again. It'll be tomorrow if I remember.

Did you try T-cut to restore the paint?
