GT Team Scream

that's no zaskar

zaskars have a flat end to the extended seat tube.

Also, i'm fairly sure that frame will not have 6061 stamped inside the dropout

Not the most trick bike out there, but it all started with the frame that was given to me for free, in a terrible state, painted green with a brush & with stripped BB threads.

The whole bike stands me in at around £60. . . yes, £60. . .

Some bits i had knocking around & some bits i got off fleabay.
It was going to be a single speed bike, but my Dirty Jo needed a winter rebuild, so i decided to build this one up for the winter.
Ritchey Bikefest Enduro at Ashton Court on Saturday will be its first ride!
Cool beans. . . :D

It was given to me as a Zaskar & under the green handpainted paint, it had Zaskar decals on which looked original. It certainly has 6061 stamped on the inside of the left hand rear drop out.
I know the "other" ally framed GT's are 7005, so assumed that as it was 6061 it was truly a Zaskar.
Were there any other 6061 framed bikes? :?:
I will stand corrected by your superior judgement. . .

Oh well. . . maybe i should call it an Avalanche with Zaskar stickers on . . . ha ha . . . whatever, its a cheap bike that looks good & rides well & should see me through the winter :D

Oops, yes well spotted.

Still a classic GT aly frame. Hell of a nice bike for 60 quids.

What 6061 frame do you think it is then . . . also the year?
I was guessing at 1997. No disc mounts on the back :?:
