cant be 98 must be around 96 / 97 not sure now
sold a gt xizang to buy it ( not a good move !!!! )

bought the frame from a company called recycle in south london who went pop shortly after

does any one have any gt info from that period ?

the serial number usually has the date of manufacuer on it.
have a look.

i'm sure someone has GT manual on here..

Hi,

this is a GT STS 1000 DS Frame.

The serial number on the bottom bracket helps you figuring out the Model year.

But with certainty it is a 1998 Model. (The serialnumber might be xx97xxx).
