Big thanks to Martin (Wadsy), he's done a beautiful job from what I can tell via the obligatory carpet bounce test.

:D

Not much to report back since I've been on my hols for a week straight back to work but now have a shifter dilemma ;)

I'm using Magura's so need separate shifters, I have a left hand XTR M900 plus shifter perches for both units and I'm desperately searching for a right hand unit or pair that work at a decent price. My heart tells me to go this approach

I also have these Shimano 3x8 units, unsure what model but they seem decent and work plus I've jazzed them up with Ti bolts

Or I had consider X-ray Ggipshift, what would you do?

I also have a further dilemma, clear Yeti grips or black ODI's?

Re:

X-Rays if you want to save the weight?...you'll need cut grips though probably.

Or the rapid-fire if you prefer the function of them :)

I'd go with the ODi mushrooms, but wouldn't want to cut them!

Cheers

When your running SPINS rather than regular wheels weight hasn't really been a major consideration in the build as a whole ;) Love the look of X-rays against the yellow Racelines though. Ran X-rays with stomach Magura's back in the day on my GT Pantera.

Re the ODI's I only paid £7.50 in packet so not too worried.

Have you answered your own question then? :D

No, just bought a complete set of M900 shifter and brake units so guess I'll have spares.

Will use the ODI grips and hang onto the Yeti's for my one day Yeti build.
Thanks for the help though Martin. Got hold of a proper RockShox Mag pump and fork handbook today from eBay, well chuffed :)

Well with the Mrs out with her mates for the evening I was able to take over the living room for some more bike building.

Forks properly fitted, stem and bars on, front brake mounted as well as ODI grips and one M900 shifter. Bit the bullet and bought a complete set so just need to wait for them then the gear cabling can be done.

Still need to bleed the brakes but I'm in love with the Carbon adp. brake booster ;)

Lovely, really lovely. My RTS 2 is a right old mess all dismantled at the moment but I'll be happy if it's a half as nice as that when done. Some similar bits going on like magura racelines and Syncros stem but mine is having an M950 drivetrain. I also have a lot of polishing to do after the paint is stripped.

Thank you for your kind words buddy, she has been a very pleasurable build s far and polishing the frame was very satisfying. I didn't go to the same length as others but I'm happy :)

Building a good bike isn't hard if your just have to bolt nice parts together. It's the guys that go to the nth degree and get perfect paint and hunt down super rare and NOS parts that blow my mind.
Having said the above I appreciate all efforts to fix up and get old bikes riding again.

Hoping you will start a build thread for your RTS to follow.
