GT RTS Team

Lovely build there Thias and thank you for your input. Hope my build comes out as nice. I've not ridden one of these before despite having owned an RTS-1 and a 2 which I stripped and sold as parts due to the frames being too large/ wanting bits for my other bikes. Looking forward to getting out on her :)

I am looking forward to hear your thoughts about that kind of suspension. I have to admit, i was rather underwhelmed by it. But it is a "impact"-type of suspension after all. So my expectations were too high. Which is rather funny because I thought I had no expectations. At all. My only experience with rear suspension at that time was my Mantra, with its URT design everybody seem to laugh about...

Do you want to read my thoughts about that RTS suspension or do you want to find out by yourself? :D

I think I'll keep it a surprise ;) I don't have hi expectations of an early sus design and have a similar age Fat Chance Shock a Billy plus a 97 STS and modern full sus Specialized to cover the full spectrum.

Jea, I have seen them peeking throu your window.
I have a LTS Thermoplast waiting to be built, a Spesh FSR nearly ready and I have been riding my Mantra and my Ibis Szasbo over the last two years. To learn about suspension developement. This is my "quest" through the birth of full susers. Kind of. :D
And I think it is really interesting to see and to feel the evolution.

Did not try a modern one yet. Dont want to spoil my ass yet.

Strip down pretty much done.

Few bits cleaned.

The topline cranks with Shimano SG rings and White Industries Tiranium BB are hopefully going to be swapped with a nice set of XTR M900 from another member, the XT rear mech will be up for sale shortly.

Spent yesterday evening stripping the rear off, polishing and rebuilding. I nearly have all the parts to build her up. Just waiting on my Mag 21's being converted to long travel by Martin and a very nice XTR M900 chainset and BB to arrive from Niall :)

That is something else! Very nice work!

Thanks guys for your nice words. I may give it a second go as run out of polish, being careful around what's left of the original decals ;)
