GT LTS seatpost size help....

Hi guys,

I have a GT LTS 1000 DS pictured below, The Syncros seat post has broken (One of the threads has stripped) so the saddle is no longer gripped firmly.

I want to replace the seatpost, but because the seat tube is curvy, the seat post has been cut down, so the size has been cut off the bottom.

Any idea what size it would be?.... ive done a bit of research and come up with 31.6.....

Can anyone confrim this?... thanks

dude try taking the post out and hold a tape measure across the top of your seat tube should be able to get within 0.5mm of what u need and i would think the seat clamp will take up 0.5mm of slack.

I'd have thought either 27.0 or 27.2, 31.6 sounds big for a GT.

My 1997 LTS was 27.2

my Specialized is 30.8 and that fits in.... but the GT one doesn't fit the Specialized.
