GRAB YOUR HANDS ON THIS VINTAGE, CLASSIC AND VERY RARE GT KARAKORUM MOUNTAIN BIKE

Must say that this has to be worth a few quid just in parts alone!!!!

I cant decide whether the colour is black or very dark blue!! Not a massive selling point really

Only a few tiny bits of rust are noticeable

20" Frame from crank to seat post, I am 6ft and it fits ok.

21 speed Shimano Deore index thumshift gears

Front wheel is a leighweight MAVIC and runs completely true

Rear Wheel is a leightweight ARAYA CV7 also runs completely true

Shimano brakes with rather large brake blocks which stop you dead on the spot

Its has a GIRVIN FLEXSYSTEM handle bar set-up which has suspension built into the handle bars to absorb slight bumps

A Royal GT plastic saddle

The bike will need a bit of tuning up on the gears and the rear brake although it rides very well

It's incredibly lightweight, even lighter than the Giant Escaper I already own which is a top notch bike

I have a silly collection of 8 bikes and a smaller shed has arrived so I have flipped a coin to decide which ones are going

BAD BITS

Seat wont go any lower than you see in the picture

Some minor and very slight cosmetic marks

Would make a fabulous bike with just a few hours of TLC

I can send the bike to you by courier at YOUR cost, arrange your own etc if you want

Offered with no reserve

Any questions then ask and I will help you as best as I can or if you want any extra pics sending then drop me a message with your email address and I will send them asap

Pics up, bike is mucky because I had one last blast on it a few days ago.

Local bike shop fancy it too

I will be cleaning the bike today to have it minted for the winning bidder.

There is no frame damage at all on the bike except for a few really minor scratches which are unnoticeable because of the colour! Doesn't make a blind bit of difference to the performance of the bike anyway

It weighs 10kg which is the lightest bike out of my collection of oldies

If anyone is interested then send me a PM

Cheers

Tim

Any idea why the seat won't go down? Bent/dinged seat tube?

Those marks, are they dings?

Not a fan of U-brakes(?), but interesting. Hmmm.

I've moved this to the ebay and marketplace watch section.

It's a 1992 Karakoram by the way, more commonly seen in the bright red and yellow "Tequila Sunrise" paint scheme. This was a more conservative alternative.

Not particularly rare, but a nice bike nonetheless.

Ive no idea why it wont go down further, tried all sorts of lubricant, I was thinking of cutting the seat post and inch or so

There is no dents on the bike, just slight scratches

It is 20 years old tho lol

Thanks for doing this for me

Ive had one of the yellow and red ones previously a few years ago

Have a giant stonebreaker in pink and yellow so thats the only " loud " bike I have ;)

I prefer this subtler colour scheme to the Tequila Sunrise.

Looks like a 18" GT sizing, which is a shame because I would have been interested if it was a 20".
