If I remember GT in the early 90's used to measure there frame up to the center of top tube.

So if you typically rode an 18" Specialized or kona for instance, you would ride a 16" Gt.

Am I correct :?:

Many Thx

Hmm Still have a question on this one :? sry for digging it up

From what I can gather and as said here Gt's Early 90's measure there seat tube center to center so as stated before a GT 18" frame would be 20" center to top.

However the top tube of said 18" still seems to be of the length typically found on a regular 18" frame of that time = 22.5 inch.

So unlike lets say a Marin where if you typically road a 19" you would buy the 17.5".

It seems to be if you typically ride a 18" you would still buy a 18" GT of that era.

All Help Thx in advance

I like to ride 18-19" frames, my "18 inch" GT measures 20" centre bb to top of seat tube and fits me perfectly.

Of course bike sizing is also dependent on body morphology - if you're 6'3 but have short legs you won't be wanting a 20" frame.
