Gt Avalanche (tricked out) ride

Took my '95ish Gt Avalanche out for a ride on some of the local trails. The Lawwill Leader fork was recently rebuilt by Risse Racing and worked pretty well! Better than a regular telescoping fork? Maybe...

I always forget how noisy the Ringle hubs are.

May not look like much here but it was enough to get my heart going, and had some seriously rutted sections farther down. VID_20240614_133751104_exported_9265.jpg

I could really see the utility of those old downhill chain keepers, since mine kept falling off! Anyway, it was a good little ride.

Bike looks fantastic - love those forks, how do they ride?
Really I was expecting more anti-dive and less stiction, but in those respects I had a hard time telling it apart from a Mag 21. Theoretically, the hub travel path keeps the wheelbase from shrinking, but again the travel is pretty minimal so it's hard to feel much of a difference. WAY better than elastomer though for "serious downhill" work, and felt plenty stiff as far as lateral and torsional flex is concerned.

How beautiful the GTs are. The model doesn't matter.
Of course the fork is differentiating, it fits very well, very original, far from the classic Rock Shox.
