GSB's karma clear out

Got a pile of odds and sods that are surplus to the requirements of the three bikes I am "allowed"...

I'm also feeling in a uncharacteristically good mood, what with Christmas around the corner, a loved one having survived some seriously lengthy surgery, and the bank having made a rather considerable "error" in my favour... I've also been here long enough now to realise that doing a good turn for my fellow retro bikers is a good thing, especially when I don't really "do" retro in any meaningful way other than owning a couple of old bikes...

So, all the bits below, are free to forum members who can either pick them up or pay for the postage...

First up, handlebars and stems:

From top to bottom theres a set of flat bars. No idea who makes 'em. - Gone
Then a set of Giant branded oversize risers and stem - GONE
A set of Felt branded bars and stem
And a set of Kore bars and stem - GONE

Next, Discs...

There's a Hayes 6" disc there,
Hope Wavy rotors in 160mm & 140mm sizes, -GONE
hope drilled rotors in 160mm and 140mm sizes, - GONE
And an unused 180mm Clarkes disc, which goes with a caliper shown in another picture. - GONE

Disc brake; GONE

A Clarkes Skeletal lever, hose and caliper. I've never used it, but it appears superficially to be ok. The hose is loose, so it'll need bleeding, and the clamp is missing, but should be easy enough to replace.

Forks: GONE

A set of Rockshox Judy SL c.2000-ish. 80mm or 100mm selectable by stripping them down and changing the order of some spacers. (Ah, the joys of pre "U-turn" spannering)

I've had them from new, and can tell you with utter confidence that they are smooth, leak free, have un damaged stanchions, and only minor cosmetic flaws on the lowers. They also have a frankly ludicrous amount of steerer tube on them. 230mm worth of "fits anything" goodness at your disposal meaning they will fit the largest of extra large headtubes.

They're IS disc compatible, although fans of leaf springs, carburettors, landlines, libraries and steam engines can remove the blanks and fit V brakes instead if they so desire... I can also tell you with equal confidence that the rebound damping is next to non-existant, with the rebound damping control making no discernible difference whatsoever to the rate at which the forks spring back at you and try to smash your wrists when compressed.

Its fair to say they need a service then... I always found that a strip, clean, and a refill with a decent oil was enough to restore satisfactory service in the form of compression damping that absorbed bumps both large and small, and rebound control that didn't try to bounce the front wheel five feet in the air...

More stuff to follow tomorrow...

Awfully sorry, but 3pms beat you to it on the forks front. Don't worry to much though, use of said forks without a service will undoubtedly result in acute carpal tunnel syndrome, meaning he won't be nearly as quick on the trigger next time...

More stuff:

A 7 speed shimano cassette of unknown vintage,

And a set of shimano square taper cranks.

This lot all gone, either posted today or delivered in person.

More when I get another spare half hour to clear out the cupboards.
