Great news. Ebay drops seller charges!

I agree with you, I just assume that they assume that everyone selling something that's been refurbished at some point in its life must be a business so must pay fees.
So the beginning of the end of so-called 'free' listing.
I can't really be bothered to list stuff on there anymore tbh so it can just go back in the cupboard until I feel like doing something with it.

The future is AI
So we must expect to play the game.
Traditionally referred to as
"A box-ticking exercise"

Tbh I was sick of private sellers describing items as "new" ...
"as new" would be correct because a new item has a raft of consumer protection attached.

Additionally items that are clearly being sold by traders registered as private, and eBay posting that "consumer protection doesn't apply" when it actually does. 🙄

Ebay = Eels covering their arses.
Rich ones at that.

Good to know.. RM48 booked in online is so slick / cheap / reliable, it's hard to see why one would choose otherwise.

Anything super cheap i used to send RM48 without signature. It still should in theory get a delivery scan but they don't always so now it'll need to be sent with signature.

Tiktok and lots of other places did the same around 3 months ago so i simply just added a quid onto the postage.

Oh!?

For cheap items.. I used to send first class with sig.. then when all contact deliveries stopped due to covid i reverted to RM48 i can't remember RM48 being an option pre-covid so i assumed it was for this purpose.
I get emails/txt alerts as the barcode is scanned (as you say, not always) and a photo of the item at the delivery address within the tracking link.. will this not be good enough after the 4th of Feb?

It will as long as the postie bothers to scan.
