Hi guys
Its been a while since I posted in this thread as nothing much has changed, still running the Pugsley singlespeed and the 1X1.
Quiet day so just thought I'd share a pic of my new saddle fitted to the 1X1. Its nothing fancy just a Charge Spoon limited edition colour, but it matches nicely. Love this machine.

Lovely - I really like the all green scheme. How do you find the multi position bars?

Hi Neebsta
The bars are Jones licenced Titec H bars. They are great on every terrain. I've had them on since new which is a good few years back now and before that these were on my Stumpy singlespeeds. I have a set on the Pugsley as well.

Re:

I finally got around to building my ne Superstar ss bits onto my bike on Saturday.
I had a few teething problems to start with. When I first went to ride away, the chain was skipping badly.
I returned home and did some online research. As a result I shortened the chain by a link and tried again.
It seemed perfect.
However, on the first steep off-road climb the chain started skipping again....and I had left my chain splitter at home
I decided to carry on anyway and it gradually got better over the course of the ride, to the point where the same hill later on was ridden with no skipping.
Overall I loved how the bike rode. I think the gearing is perfect for me to start with and I'll see how it pans out long term.

Hi Makster

That really is a superb bike you have built there.

I have used the superstar SS conversion too, and also had some skipping issues, in the end I swopped around the spring so the tensioner pushed up and therefore the chain wrapped around the rear cog more, solved the problem until I found the magic gear!

It was a while ago so have forgotten how I actually did it  but I seem to remember it was pretty obvious when looking at it!

Looking good Makster!
The tensioner should really push up to give better wrap around the cog. I know on the Surly tensioner you could get a different spring to either push up or pull down.
Looks great and well set up. Are you still going to ride geared off road as well?

This will be the only bike I ride on/off road through the winter.
I'm really looking forward to giving it a proper test on my usual trails, but the chain ferry that runs across Poole Harbour is out of action for another 3 weeks.
Bearing in mind that Poole Harbour is the 2nd largest natural harbour in the world, it's a bloody long way to ride around instead!

Yeah, looking at it like that it is on top but the spring needs to push/pull upwards not down. That way it will wrap around the cog more and not slip. More contact etc.
I haven't been geared off road for a good few years now, Stumpy, 1X1 and my Pugsley.

Hi Guys
Just a couple of pics from yesterdays ride with epicyclo.
Out for a few hours on a loop in the flow country up my way. Out to the remote Altnabreac station and then south, slowly looping back north up to Loch More.
We were both out on the 1X1s, both running 2.75 Dirt Wizards and both sporting new saddles, mine with its new spoon and epicyclo sporting a new Brooks Cambium (very flash). From all accounts both worked great and I must say its the first time I have used a Charge Spoon after having heard good things and thankfully it lived up to the hype, very comfortable indeed.
Anyway heres a couple of pics.
Just thought I'd share and hope you all had a cool singlespeed ride as well.

Jamie
