Yes, better than a Tension Seeker but not as good as "track drop outs". It was used mainly to tension the chain rather than for chain retension. Also it was less exposed to rocks and any crashes. Previously I'd mounted it on the top run but it was too near the tyre. Sadly I karmad it on here so for my next SS I will try an old rear mech.
Thanks, it was the longest I've kept a frame I think. When I got on it I felt I could ride anything, (I can't, it sent me to A & E once) :roll:
It's been replaced with a 456 Summer Season for even more over confidence.
I'll post some pics this week in readers rides now that that I'm house (casa) bound. At 75 I'm finding single speeding a bit tough around here so no it's 1 X 10.
I plan to build up a SS Kona next time I'm in the UK as a Ridgeway / tow path multi day tourer though.
Coronavirus isolation and a bad tooth I needed distracting from pushed me into starting a 'random' build - single speed tensioner and brakes to go on tomorrow
