Thought this might be of interest to a few people here... it's a recent interview I did with Grant Petersen of Rivendell/Bridgestone USA fame. Went pretty deep on a lot of topics here...
That’s really good. I’m a big GP fan - because (and it’s becoming an over-used word, and undervalued idea) he’s authentic; doesn’t matter if it’s cameras, fishing, axes, derailleurs, graphic design, food, business ethics, people ethics - the same true, experience-driven ethos runs through. And the range of those topics is always interesting.
Also worth noting how Rivendell products aren’t retro or vintage or nostalgic: they’re the end result of trying stuff and figuring out what works and what needs improving without marketing-driven change.
