I have two kinds of joystix cranks, one is pointed at the axle end and the other is rounded, whats the story here ? cheers

Pointed ones are the last and final generation.
They are a little beefier at the axle end

yeah that's it, the others have a kind of point to them, so do you know respective years of production for these?

There was no exact cutoff as far as year, I cant remember the exact year when we started seeing those flowing into the sales floors as they came on as a re-design (like most Grafton stuff) rather than a "new model year".

First time I remember seeing them was as warranty replacements. The pointed ones were the last Grafton crank sets to come out though.

They stopped production after that.

Hi I have these also. The joysticks in the pic are the later ones. I had them since 93. There are also beefier ones they were made earlier I think.
