Ok so I collected bike today, looks like I'm in for some fun!
Came with a few bits (deore lx shifters (knackered )lx brakes and levers missing inner and outer rings off front crank and no derailleur or front shifter)
Would anyone know if the lx groupset is the correct one for the year of the bike.
As for the forks they're an added bonus now I need to source a set of originals.
Think I may do a full rebuild to factory specs, as for the paintwork may look into the powdercoat company mentioned above.

It originally would have had Deore II cantilever brakes and levers, 7 speed thumbshifters, chainset with a plain 26t granny and 36t and 46t biopace rings, pedals, front and rear mechs and hubs. Spokes were plain guage stainless and rims were Araya RM-20 with Marin RockStar tyres.

Handlebar and stem were Marin's own in bright flouro orange, saddle was some Marin badged lycra covered gel affair, that I ditched on day one, the seatpost was SR Sakae and headset was Tange Levin.

Good luck finding Deore II kit Only produced in 89 although some of it followed on into the DX groupset. Going DX will get it built quicker i am sure.

If you let me know what steerer length you have I may have some 1990 fluro orange marin forks.
