Goodbye Capello! Hello ******!

Has the concept of hiring on the basis of managerial experience or previous success gone out the window now? Being English is the main attribute required?

Sack a many times honoured top level manager and replace him with someone who has won nothing with a patchy record over just a few years? Madness.

Pearce's football in his last year @City was seriously dire (and i've seen plenty of dire)....without googlobin i think we scored 10 goals @ home all season.

I am just waiting to see if they retain James Corden as coach.

Pearce may turn out to be a good choice in terms of motivating the players. Not that anyone in the position of playing their sport at the highest level should need any external impetus to play their legs off.

Tactically, not so sure. England tend to dissolve into primary school chase the ball at times.

IMO the England managerial role is a bit of a poison chalice. Capello certainly got out at the right time!

.

I believe/hope that given a free reign Stuart Pearce will seriously shake up the squad.

Its been said a thousand times(and in this thread) that a team is not always as good as the sum of its parts.

We need 22 players that can play as a unit, not the 22 players that get the most headlines :?

As with the 2 managers that went before him i don't think Capello his changed the squad dramatically enough to change how it performs as a unit.

Oh and while i'm hear, re the national anthem, there should be an FA sniper in the stands. Don't know the words...BANG!!!!!
