After scouring the internet for the best value sub £200 new bike for a trip I am planning in the summer where at the end I plan to leave the bike with a local charity and catch the bus home I came across this one, a Compass Control.
No I have not heard of them either and with no reviews but down from £500 originally to £170 plus £10 postage I took a punt and my initial impressions are pretty good. It has an alloy frame, not my favourite but the welding is very clean and the paint finish looks good. it has Suntour forks, Shimano crankset and gears and tektro cable operated discs, the derailleur hanger is even replaceable.
It was well packed and only took a few minutes to assemble, even the seatpost tube was very nicely pre-greased and the brakes and gears work well without any other adjustment. At 15KG for the smallest which they call medium it is no lightweight.
I will even praise the courier company they use who when I phoned them my call was answered within three rings by a human and came close to the middle of their 3 hour delivery window.
The only possible problem now is that I might want to take it home after my trip.

It's cheap for sure, but they are selling below cost, which is what's killing the cycle trade, like the wiggle chain reaction business model.

At least it wasn't made by children😉
