Good home wanted for my 1990 Marin Eldridge

Adman57

Retro Newbie
In 1990 my dad died and left me a small amount of money that I spent on a new Marin Eldridge, which I rode it right up until a year ago when the chain snapped. As all of the bearings and cables need replacing, I thought I'd make it a project, but a year on and it hasn't been touched, and I doubt it will be. Apart from tyres, grips, cables chain and break pads - it's all original (27 years of chips and scratches inc') . No modern bike would be as reliable or robust, but I enjoy modern geometry more, so I'm letting the Marin go. Sensible offers please?

I don't know the size but it was perfect for me at 6'.
PICK UP only from Aylesbury/Tring area.

Hi, you'll need a price or it will get deleted.
Looks fab. Good job you're not near by!
Ruled out fixing it up? We could help and tools and parts are not too pricey

Re:

Keep it for sentiment given the way it was bought. Happy to help with parts etc. Deore dx stuff easy and cheap enough to get.

FWIW I had a tired Marin hack bike from this era when I went to uni. I'd already sold my Orange for a BMX and Motorbike previously. After uni I stripped the used abused Marin down and gave it a new look. A wonderful bike. I sold it as I wanted a modern bike.... I'd love another early Marin in a sensible size. I miss that one even though it wasn't sentimental or perfect to start with. If you decide to keep we can help.

Re:

Keep it! You will regret it! Been there and regret to this day. Restore it. As others have said we are all here to help! :D
