Actually I described it as I did because I don not know if it was used before I bought it 4 -5 years ago. It looks to me like it should do when new, there is no obvious wear to the teeth across the cassette and it is pretty fecking spotless. But I can't say 100% it has not been used before it came to me, I am happy to say new-other with the description intended to be there to clear up any confusion. Presumably it wasn't clear enough for everyone...my bad...

Except on eBay where there is a 'new other' option which seems to me the most appropriate in this case.
